Clay from Atzompa and turquoise earrings

This clay is from Atzompa, Oaxaca, and I added some turquoise beads for more drama. 

The look is very organic, and earthy. Nice for an unusual piece of wearable art.

Clay from Atzompa, Oaxaca

This summer, I visited Oaxaca, and I was really impressed by the designers of clay beads. I never thought that a design with humble clay would be so beautiful. These are some of the things I made with the beads from Atzompa.

This one was difficult to make, specially because the fragility of the clay circles.

But they turned out beautiful at the end.

Beaded spiral rope and pearls
